Wanted: Car Stereo Installation!

Postby garvey » Thu Jul 12, 2007 12:42 pm

OK, I've gotten price quotes from one local shop and one in a neighboring community -- and it's very pricey. I can buy the equipment on my own at better pricing, but cannot find someone to install it.

SO, does anyone know of someone who is a great installer -- I'm looking for someone who can handle a higher end system with two amps, subs, component speakers, crossovers, etc....

Your help will turn my FJ into a noise ordinance violating machine!!!

Just curious, what is the "pricey" range for the install sans equipment?

I will do it for $498.

A new system won't help you pick up chicks, Garvey.

But this might:

I know that Circuit City used to install things that they didn't sell. You might try Best Buy to see if they do the same.

Although they have good installers, their service hours to do it are shitty.

You might want to contact an installer and see if he can do it in his "off time."

In the experiences I've had and read about (read about = on the XM forums) you often get what you pay for as far as stereo installation goes.

That sounds like a fairly complex system, too.

If I were you Garv, I'd buy the stuff you need from Crutchfield, then you can buy (probably discounted) installation from them (they'll send you to a local place).
