I will have to check the direc tions a little more closely to find a date. The tiles look to be Catalin rather than Bakelite. Catalin was similar to Bakelite but does not to get as much of a yellowish brown tint with age. To identify them, you test the same way. Catalin tiles' corners are a little more rounded because of the molding process. I am pretty sure they are not ivory or bone. But as I said, I need to examine it a little more closely, they may be celluloid. The box, a double doored table top style, is is very good condition with no nicks or damage. Internally, all of the dividers are in place and not damaged or loose, The four wood racks are in great shape, also undamaged. The coins all appear to be in good shape.
Definitely worth the $10 I paid!

Looks like a very nice set. Hope you learn how to play. Once upon a time I wanted to learn but never tried. I must have known some people who played. I forget the circumstances now.
