Them "kids" are mostly adults with families.

That forum has ~300 who hang there full-time, I'm not sure how many post but it is over 3,000,000.

It's been around for a while, at one point it was one of the top 10 sites on the entire internet, for several years.

Do yourself a favor and watch Andy's performance as Dusty Rhodes in FACE IN THE CROWD. He was as maniacall in that as laid back as Sherif Taylor. What great range over his long career, including his hilarious recorded comic monologues early on. An American original whose likes we probably won't see again.

That was amazing, as was his role in the TV movie Under the Influence.

For the sake of his humor, here's a classic recording for y'all.

I'm sure I've got this on a 45 someplace.

This photo is of a cafe somewhat midway between Indy & Bloomington (if "midway" takes you to the West) that has the Mayberry theme down pat.

Actually the Mayberry Cafe is in Danville, northwest of Indy.

Very interesting piece about the "Face In the Crowd" role.

Bummed about this. Major icon and someone who looked like my Dad. "mmmm, gooood cracker, good cracker" -- made Dad say that every time we found ourselves eating crackers...

Just watched FITC a couple weeks ago on TCM. I have several of his early monologues on vinyl, he billed himself as "Deacon Andy Griffith" then. "What It Was, Was Football" still gets me rolling on the floor- Pure genius. I saw an NFL films short years ago that featured that routine along with football clips to suit... hilarious. Never saw it again, but then I don't watch many sports programs.

I've always liked Andy Griffith.

Over the last few years have enjoyed watching reruns of The AG Show and Matlock on the tube.

We still have Opie. :)

What a great guy from all I've ever read, spent a lot of time as a kid watching McHale's Navy.

95, he had a good life, RIP Mr. Borgnine.
