Can you guys read the PMs that go from poster to poster? Or just the ones sent to you?

Wondered that myself, disabled mine today, I don't see a real use for it.

I think only the messages sent to mods can be read.

Whew! That's good news. All of our secrets are safe and the end of the world as we know it can commence as planned.

I'm not sure about phpBB forums but with a Vbulletin forum you can't do it without an addon (at least with the version we use on our paintball forum). Usually mods have very limited powers ( I've been on forums where they couldn't ban someone or even really hide an offensive post), it's the Admins who have all the fun.

You can't do it that I'm aware of. FW may know ins and outs MG and I are unaware of.

Back in the day of hanging out an the "Silver" vax at IU they ran an "illegal" program that allowed for conversing in real time, public and private msgs to others that were online. It had a "God" mode that allowed such things, made it interesting at times. Users knew of it and it was fun to try to figure out who it was that currently had it granted to them.

Like when I had my own business and worked inside many a business w/o anyone else present in the middle of the night and now in a position where I have access to things few else do. I do not abuse my position, I didn't then snoop through anything. I did my work and moved on, same at my current position and here.

You do that sort of thing and you won't have anything to worry about managing except your time, public or private, real or virtual. It will fast become public knowledge.

"Not that I'm aware of" means what again?

I don't know, FW may know more, he's the programmer here.

Deal with it

I don't know. The full quote is

You can't do it that I'm aware of.

Who ''You''?

I guess I'll just have to ''deal with'' English which is deliberately inexact.

Deal with that.

./me channels Richard Potato: SIGH

Worst mistake I make is I occasionally click on the "edit" button instead of reply/quote by mistake and don't catch it before I hit the submit/save button.
