He really had to go. He clearly had lost the team this year, not to mention a good chunk of the fanbase support (although that was before this year.)
I wonder if Larry Legend will step in to finish the season? I'm sure that's would owner Herb(?) Simon would like -- it would surely generate fan interest and media coverage to have Larry Bird back on the bench.
There's a lot of good coaches out there currently unemployed, including former Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown, who spent several years as the Pacers' head assistant before getting the Cleveland job.
