There is a lot of roadwork going on though. Looks like they are close to finishing the intersection at the mall and that entire stretch of the by-pass from 37 to the 46/mall. I think the work downtown is a result of infrastructure upgrade of the storm and sanitary sewers... which was a result of the sanitary sewer flooding and spilling over into the storm sewers too frequently, I believe the city got fined by the state environmental agency for it and the risk it put the public at for that occurring. They had to fix it or risk further major fines.

The work downtown is to repair the storm sewers, waterlines, and the tunnel which the Jordan river runs through. Proving to be liars and or ignorant, those in charge of the project claimed that no one uses all three lanes of traffic from Walnut and Second streets to Walnut and Third Streets. This section is being cut down to just two lanes for cars and a bike lane. Also we were told that a traffic light will be installed at Smith Ave and Walnut.

Life sure can be hard at times... be thankful you're not working on the road crew. Them boys gotta be HOT.
